I have experienced many times that the salmon take after the fly has come out of the main stream and towards calmer water close to shore. Then the fish often take the fly from behind. And then my experience is that a long body that is almost as long as the wing hooks better. I have experienced many times that the salmon take care in such situations and only nibble a little on the wing without being hooked if the hook is placed forward just behind the head / under the wing. With a long body and hook placement at the very back of the tube fly, this works very well and more fish are hooked properly. HNN blue 10 cm and 8 cm tube body also has a conehead for good balance. Length and size of the fly have proven very good in conditions with good water flow.
If you fish for sea trout in conditions with a lot of water or at night, these flies are very effective and hook very well, especially with a double tube hook pointing up.
